...at a time when Christian Europe was not only killing off any non-Christians, but killing millions of fellow-Christians as well...hereīs dictionary definition of pluralism...

plu·ral·ism noun ˈplu̇r-ə-ˌli-zəm

Definition of PLURALISM

1: the holding of two or more offices or positions (as benefices) at the same time

2: the quality or state of being plural

3a : a theory that there are more than one or more than two kinds of ultimate reality b : a theory that reality is composed of a plurality of entities

4a : a state of society in which members of diverse ethnic, racial, religious, or social groups maintain an autonomous participation in and development of their traditional culture or special interest within the confines of a common civilization.

Number 4 hits the nail on the head...the Ottomans, through their millet system, allowed ethnic and religious minorities to maintain, "...development of their traditional culture...within the confines of a common civilization".

Something the Europeans consistently failed to do...and America adopted as its "melting pot"...which in practise was more an injection mold. Sure, non-Muslim MEN of military age, paid an extra tax, for which they were exempt from military service....but so what...do all Americans pay the SAME tax rate? Does Bank of America pay its fair share? Does ity pay ANY? So, a tax disparity wasnīt new to the Ottomans and itīs been standard practise in the developed world these several centuries...T

The Ottomans created a pluralistic society where Christian Europe was basically Murder Inc.
