I was reading about one of my favorite actors Anthony Quinn and I came across a film of his which I had never seen, "The Lion of the Desert". It was funded by Qaddafi and filmed in Libya starring top notch actors like Quinn, Oliver Reed, Irene Papas, Rod Steiger, and Sir John Gielgud. Quinn plays the part of Libyan hero, Omar al Mukhtar whose 20-year war of resistance against Italy ended with his capture on September 11, 1931, thirty years before the attacks on New York.
Then in 2009, when Qaddafi was visiting Italy, he had a picture of al Mukhtar being taken to the gallows by an Italian officer on his chest, and along with him, Qaddafi had brought al Mukhtar's oldest son to meet Berlusconi, which led Tariq Ali to say, "I quite liked that."

And of course, the second 911 took place in Chile, 1973. Below is an article about an Iraqi/British rapper who dedicated his show to the Chilean hero, Dr. Salvador Allende and the victims of the Chilean coup.
