One must keep in mind before these "islamic nations" were independent, they were under western rule for a while and most of its leaders were appointed from outside. They are puppet government(I call them cowboys) who do not care much for the benefit of their own people but their own pockets. These dictators and oppressive tyrants we see are not what Muslims want to begin with. They may seem independent and sovereign but it's not the reality. Let's just take Afghanistan for an example. The country used to be wonderful and the Russians/Americans basically destroyed it. Another example was Algeria before the French occupation. The average Algerian could read and write and they had a higher literacy rate than Britain but all that changed after the colonization period.

Albania and Bosnia was another example. They had been under communist rule to a point where they only identified as Muslims but knew nothing of Islam. There were many who didn't even know how to properly make ablution before prayers. They are now learning about their religion and getting to know it better. So the Christian occupiers had everything to with it. Wherever Christians went, they turned a place backwards while Muslims did the exact opposite. Muslims used to value education, science, philosophy etc but today they are struggling for survival. These dicators are funded and appointed from outside and the nations are in turmoil yet Christians say that is Islam but I say "oh really"? That is not Islam but dictatorship and oppression.

The prophet Muhammad said in numerous hadiths "do not oppress and do not become oppressed". Islam is not oppression and no Muslim who knows his religion well should shiver when he or she hears the word "sharia". What these modern fools do is not sharia but their own corrupt version of the law. Sharia is what Muslims in Spain lived by, or the Abbasid dynasty and the Ottoman empire during it's age of glory. What Saudi Arabia does today or Sudan or Somalia and wherever else is not sharia nor Islam but corruption. The prophet never killed anyone for not having a beard or for not wearing a headscarf. All these things were unheard of. I like how Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, from California, put it: "I rather be a Muslim in America than in any Muslim country". It's not because those nations are decent Muslims but because they are oppressive and corrupt.

One has to question those nations when you see Muslims from over there learning Islam in Europe or America. It's ironic but I know why it is. I bet anyone right now that if Saudi Arabia didn't have the strict laws regarding hijab, many women would take it off in a heartbeat because they are forced to wear it and there is much ignorance. However, in Turkey and Tunisia it's a different story. The polls show that around 77% of women in Turkey want the hijab ban lifted. Why would they want it lifted when in countries where it's forced they want to take it off? It's because the ones in Turkey know their religion better and learn it while in Saudi Arabia their laws are corrupt and unfair toward women.

People don't like to be forced to do something against their will. America supposedly wants to liberate women in the Middle East and we have western women converting to Islam and not only wearing hijab but even wanting to wear niqab. These are not married women but single women who chose Islam and did their own research. If I had not learned Islam on my own, I would have never accepted it to begin with. I would have probably left the minute I encountered any absurd Muslim but I spent hours every day and night studying and learning. I studied Islamic law for 2 years just to know for myself. I am not a scholar nor do I know everything but I can say that I know a lot about it and know most those countries are runned by these cowboys that were put in charge before these nations became "free". Today we are talking about tolerance etc, but did you know that the founding fathers used much from Islam to make their constitution. Jefferson used to read the Quran with a candle just to learn and he even taught himself Arabic.

When Muhammad established his constitution in Madina, the other religions were free to practice their religion, they had their own courts and much more. In Baghdad, scholars used to get together, hold debates and much more. We got these scholars today who give us some strict and oppressive ideology and tell us it's Islam. It is an oxymoron when they say "Islamic republic" or "Islamic government" because there is no such thing. The only thing there exists is a leadership or government which has Islamic values and the last was the Ottoman empire during its golden age. I like how one person said it, "I like Islam but I don't like Muslims". In my case I wouldn't say I don't like all Muslims but there are many that piss me off and I don't care about.

Anyways, I didn't mean to write so much or get carried away but it happens, lol.
