I've told the story about coverting to Islam, not for the religion, but for pleasure... Now, I'm deciding to convert to Judaism, for the same reason... But it's such a drag when one of each women decides to visit, giving me only a few hours to rearrange my books: when the Jewish girl stops by, I hide all my Norman Finkelstein books, Noam Chomsky, and other writers and essayist who are not necessarily anti-Semites, but anti-Zionists. When the Muslim girl arrives, I hide all of my critical books on Islam, written by Tariq Ali and other former Muslims critical of Islam. The funny thing is the Jewish girl calls me Jew and mensch, since I know more about her history better than she. And the Muslim girl, doesn't care what I know about Islam, she's content with the fact thay my mother's family are Muslim - but I always disrupt my mother's conversations with her because my mom hates Islam and is an athiest. It's so exhausting, but have to laugh because it reminds me of a film Woody Allen wrote (but did no direct) called "Play it Again, Sam", about a guy who's girl leaves him and he begins dating... and with each date, he places books - open to certain pages - to impress the girl... I wonder, am I becoming the Assyrian/Persian Woody? Seems that way..
