....ever wonder why there are so many calls for unity among assyrians and so little signs of it? Ever wonder why there is no unity among Christian sects and denominations? I mean why can't Presbyterians and Anglicans and Mennonites and Quakers and Catholics and Lutherans and Unitarians and Protestants and Baptists and Pentacostals, to name only a few, why can't they all unite into ONE?

Because they fought long and hard to be INDEPENDENT of one another...battles that cost them much blood...after all of that why on earth, and how, would they all of a sudden set aside the very differences they died for to join with the rest into any kind of single, unified, group?

Same with assyrians and their unwillingness to really unify...they were divided along religious lines picking up all the hatreds and prejudice of each sect...after all of that why would they, HOW could they, all of a sudden unite? Their very essence is DIS-unity...that's how a Protestant assyrian knows he is different (more holy too) than a Presbyterian assyrian. They CAN'T unite...if they had that gene they never would have split apart to begin with, and so easily too...so eagerly. The western missionaries came calling with books, newspapers, sugar, tea, stoves, fuel, desks, cloth, sewing machines and the poor assyrian villagers saw CHRIST! A new different Christ...one who had MONEY. That was all it took...that and the hope that the countries which sent those missionaries would "protect us". So they bolted...ran for the exits and into the arms of the missionaries....that's the reason assyrians today can't unite....because their very souls are DIS-united from them...they became the plaything of western religions...how can they possibly set aside the arcane distinctions which divide one Christian from another.....and for politics?????? Forget it.
