I want you all to know that Assyria is now completely "Kurdified." Assyrians have to PAY to send their children to private schools because every government school teaches Kurdish only. ALL Assyrian businesses are banned from writing their business signs in Assyrian, or even English, and ALL the Assyrian businesses, even in Nuhadra are in Kurdish only. The Kurdish flag flies over EVERY Assyrian institution in Assyria, even Dishta d'Nineve, and the Kurds are guarding ALL Assyrian villages. SHAME ON US!!!! The government in the north said, "If you don't want the Kurds to guard your villages and institutions, then pay the Assyrians to stand guard over Assyrian places." but not ONE Assyrian came to take the job, the position of security guards over Assyria, with pay. Don't we deserve what has happened to us?

...a sure way to start a civil war between a handful of assyrians and Kurdistan...which will give YOU more martyrs to wail about. There's always a silver lining for a vulture because SOMEBODY is going to get killed and dinner will be served up one way or the other.

Dear Maggie, this is "occupation". nothing new. But will we keep complaining or start working from Diaspora ?

I believe if everyone who say "i'm oumtanaya" in Diaspora works to expose the kurdifiaction and islamization policy, many sides will help in creating a new problem in Iraq : the Assyrian problem.

Here we go again. Every "Umtanayah" must expose Kurds/Muslims./Jews/Arabs and Atheists to prove his stand. What a lot of baloney. Assyrians must first look at themselves and stop complaining. Before Iraq became Arabistan, it was Ottmanistan and Mangholistan and Persianninstan and whatever occupying forces. Not one Assyrian managed to assimilate and work their way up. I think Assyrians must get rid of this bogus egocentric attitude and start from scratch. Yes from scratch. And if takes another 100 years of enslavement to the Kurds same as we have been to the British, Arabs and Ottomans so be it, but let us learn. Ashur you said in one of your interview, we have no time, no money and the mass to back our claim. Why can’t we just accept that others are walking while we are talking? Maggie reported what she saw in Attra. Maggie testified that people she met were courteous, helpful and appreciative. That is where we should begin and not beg on our knees / What have we seen in Diaspora? Monuments, Statues and bunch of illiterate and ignorant politicians.

When Assyrians are able to create someone like “Leopold Weiss” then we might have a glimpse of hope. Meetings with European representatives, Head of states and so called political figures is all pointless and waste of time and aimed at self-glorification only. The only way is to abandon this orchestrated faith which is becoming a liability day after day and convert, assimilate, learn the language, be engaged in a dialogue without any demands but truly command them move on. Assyrians have nothing and it is about time that we know how to save a penny.

Better still I suggest that all of you Activists and Umtanayeh, get yourself a copy of “AGE OF HARDSHIP” and learn from it. We are making the same mistakes that Maleke and head of Tribes made and our people, our nation paid the price.
I am sorry to say that the only Nation that has no Agenda, Plan or Enthusiasm is the Assyrian Nation and that is why we are on the bottom of the list.

What you say is not against what I'm saying, if we want to keep our culture we can do this in any country but you lack the understanding of the Assyrian cause.

If meeting world politicians is just for self glorification, please glorify everyone who do this ... you are already glorifying those who are bugles of our enemies, for their personal agenda.

It is not my word against yours or my ideology against yours it is a matter of understanding the core of our problem. Our problem is that majority of Diaspora have washed their hands from Assyria. I mingle with people for opinions and believe me Ashur no one, not even one (except some paid opportunist politicians) is willing to shed a tear or drop of blood for Assyria. You cannot compare us to the Jews and emulate their footprints. During the past 50 years Assyrians experienced the taste of freedom in “Jalloutta”. An orchestrated PLAN uprooted them from their Homeland opting for life of luxury and chasing the $ sign. Today’s Assyrians lack initiative and I am beginning to doubt if we are really the offspring or descendants of those great warriors. Neo-Assyrians need a real shake up and big slap to awake them from their hibernation and in today’s world that is impossibility and if by sheer luck it happens then it will be a miracle better still one of the Seven Wonders of the World. If I lack understanding of the Assyrian cause having read books and been involved in issues of nationalism in Iraq as well as Australia, then how do you expect the ordinary Assyrian to understand it? Excuse me Ashur I am not glorifying those kissing Kurdish shoes. I am glorifying their stand and endurance in circumstances that you will never understand unless you are in the battle field. I coped a bitter blow, when I stood up and said in a national gathering that it is wrong for Assyrians to be recruited by the Kurdish Pishmerga against the Arabs of Iraq , because in either case we will be the victims. But now I have the proof. Assyrians cannot and are not capable to create an Assyrian Problem in today's world and any attempts will cause another Sayfo/Simele mayhem, then our next generations will spend the rest of their life mourning what is remained of the nation. The only way is to be diplomatic with the current situation and make the most of it. Those that were portrayed with you in a picturesque session are the ones who are promoting their personal agenda and if your efforts are genuine and can secure a "Balfour like Declaration" then I will be the first to admit “lack of understanding of the Assyrian cause>.
Until then, what is your personal view watching this clip from the comfort of your chair

...except for the attack on monuments(ahem)....sounds pretty sensible to me.
