In Response To: Re: Dr. Geoffrey Khan on the Assyrian Language (Abboud Dankha)
I hate to edit someone else's post and I won't do it again. This is the first and last time, so please do not ask me again, but I was able to edit your personal information out of your post.
We have no delete, no edit rule because I don't have time to do these sort of things and I don't want to get into the habit of pleasing others because they might regret what they've said. I'm not going to moderate and get involved in other's posts. I'm not a referee. Imagine if everyone asks for this service, I wouldn't have time and then our forum wouldn't be what it is today: a self-contained, self-managed forum, where everyone is responsible for their own words and actions. Like I said, we're all grown-ups here, and there are no goal keepers, no referees. That's what a democratic forum means.
Democracy is a beautiful thing, but with it comes responsibilities.
...so, no monitors....no delete...no banning either? How about a password to even get on? What kind of democracy is it when people have to be pre-approved? She should join the Republicans...they too are trying to limit access.
Think I'll try posting...just to see what happens.
