...I have to laugh whenever I hear the words...."artificial intelligence". If a thing is artificial, it seems to me it therefore can't be what it purports to be...artificial butter obviously has nothing to do with real butter...except to try to rip off its name and as a way to hide its own artificiality.

...artificial intelligence isn't intelligence at all...it's the creation, in fact, of very UNintelligent people who think artificial things can do as well as the real thing....

The one thing, above all else, which makes us human and special is our ability to think, to reason, to use logic. It's also the thing that has always terrified tyrants and captains of industry, and especially school systems...in fact you could say that organized society is dead set against intelligence...and instead prefers something called artificial intelligence. I certainly ran into that kind of intelligence in school, at every level.

People are discouraged from using, and then punuished for using, their intelligence...their ability to reason things out without "all the facts". In fact, figuring out what to do when you don't KNOW what to do, is the best definition of intelligence...that's the way things were for humans when we began this rides eons ago....we hadn't hardly ANY facts, and yet there was great need to figure things out...so we used our natural reason, our logic, our common sense to PREDICT what was likely, or what the truth was of what had just happened, well before we knew any of the facts...that's intelligence...and yet, today we're made to feel foolish for forming any kind of opinion that flies in the face of "reality" or "the facts".

Trouble is we get all opur supposed facts from controlled agencies which tell us what the facts are...we don't go looking them up for ourselves...we rely instead on our parents, teachers, ministers, presidents and kings and especially "experts", whose expertise we know nothing of...to tell us what the facts are...and our part is to believe and repeat...certainly not to challenge and question and especially not to form opinions on our own based on what REASON dictates...never mind the "facts" we are presented with.

After centuries of being told what facts to believe, we lose the ability to reason for ourselves, we even become suspicious of people who insist on questioning so-called facts...we think of them as loose cannons, or conspiracy theorists...just for questioning and thinking...well, if we had never, as human beans, questioned or applied our brains we never would have left the caves...after all, a cave is better than being out in the open, and that's a FACT. But someone challenged even that fact...and so we moved on to huts and then teepees and finally houses...someone though about it and decided eating your fellows raw was not a good "fact", even though everyone was doing it, as FOX News reported, way back 10,000 years ago....

So, it's easy to imagine how people, even scientists and engineers, could think they're on the road to discovering artificial intelligence...except that artitficial intelligence isn't intelligence at all....but most humans now function with artificial intelligence already...and if making a robot who acts the same way proves anything it proves that you can make a machine as STUPID as a human....and claim success too!
