Thereīs such a wealth of information out there.

Iīd always assumed that the Founding Fathers had made sure that we could not have a tyurrany of majority to protect minorities...they did, but not for the reasons Iīd assumed. They did it to protect the small minority of wealthy people, like most of them. They wanted to be sure that the overwhelming majority of poorer people could not legislate their wealth away. But like so much of that document it had the unintended consequence of one day being used by disenfranchised groups and granting full civil rights to women, Blacks Gays, transvestites...you name it.
My assessment of the super rich as being just plain bonkers for wanting more and wealth when they couldnīt possiby use up what they already was only partly correct...they ARE crazy, but thereīs a method to their madness. One of them may have 50 million dollars, but he and his wife and kids run in circles where others have 100 or 600 million, and maybe a few who have 1 billion...so 50 million becomes insufficient, even humiliating...thatīs why the rich are never rich enough, because they donīt compare themselves to those of us below them, but to those ABOVE them, hence they can never have enough.
And I am sorry to disagree with Tiglath but weīve gone way beyond the point where paper money CAN be backed by anything tangible, forget petroleum as we moved way past gold and silver...the printing of paper money, by itself, is inflationary...every time more billions enters the money supply the value of the dollar sinks....printing more and more, though it may appear to add wealth, to provide money for JOBS and for people to buy goods and services, inflation keeeps sinkign wages as well as raising prices...so itīs a failure every time...as weīve been seeing. With all the money already in circulation, only 3% of which is actual cash(the rest being digital Monopoly blips) the American worker gets poorer and poorer and has been for 30 years now...BUT, the wealthy get more and more of that useless money which makes them THINK and feel that theyīre richer and richer even if itīs with cheaper and cheaper dollars...itīs all a GAME, to them, to us itīs amtter of survival, of college tuition, of rent and food and some human dignity, all thinhs which the wealthy doesnīt relate to.

Capitalism is in crisis...the old band-aids donīt work. They could, except wages would have to be raised, but that would cut in to profits, the stuff the super-rich need to compete with the Joness, even though itīs cheap and meaningless otherwise, still, itīs all they know, for most of them accumulating wealth is the ONLY talent they know, and they want to be superstars at something.
The soul of capitalism is consuming...it requires people to have SOMETHING to buy with...or else goods pile up on shelves and workers get laid off which means less and less people with less and less wages to BUY all that fucking junk which is supposed to be at the root of all happiness...besides which, after youīve got the basics you just donīt NEED that much more. There are other markets perhaps and the whole juggernaut can be kept bumping and careening down the road, but itīs coming to an end...which could be the reason that Blackwater was even begun, with the pretext that they needed even more and better paid soldiers in Iraq...there always has to be good-sounding reason, but I believed from the start that Blackwater was intended for home-use.

The super wealthy who and control everything, including our stupid elections, are soon to be at their wits end...they fear riots down the road as we head for the inevitable..itīs happened at every stage in human history when the rich get too rich and the rest of us too poor, so creating a large para-military police force, besides the National Guard, is somethign they think might work...but even before it comes to riots theyīre moving to change the law so that surveliance of movement leaders and jailing them without charges because down the road almost ANYTHING will be construed as "aiding terror", will become easier and easier to do. In the end of course theyīll fail...such small coteries of wealthy people, even with the power of the State in their hands always do...itīs just that itīs going to be a lot of BOTHER until they have their try at total subversion and we poor dummies roll up our sleves and get rid of them.

It would be so nice to for once in human history use the wonderuland lawful means given usto bring about change well BEFORE thereīs a break-down.
