...speaking about the religious getting their beliefs from faith vs those of us who get our beliefs from evidence. This could be the reason the most nationalistic assyrians are also the most religious...because they get their "national identity" from faith, not from evidence. That's why they so often react to those they disagree with as if they were the Inquisition seeking out heretics...that's why there is no compromise among them because how can you compromise on your faith...which is also why they never grasp politics, because politics is all about compromise, war is about certainty.

assyrians BELIEVE they are assyrians...like they believe Jesus walked on water...they don't need any evidence for either...so to discuss facts and evidence and actual history with these people is fruitless: they don;t know what you're talking about..to them believing in something preposterous is the very ESSENCE of faith...I mean if it was OBVIOUS you wouldn't need faith, would you?

...you almost have to be rabidly Christian to be assyrian...because both are baed entirely on FAITH...the more Christian you are, the more "assyrian" you will be...which is why they say you HAVE to be Christian to be assyrian..and, to be their kind of assyrian, they are correct.
