...she's probably the most educated and erudite news anchor anywhere on teevee....her analysis of events is most often refreshing...except; she has this thing for US soldiers being heroes which I find hard to swallow. The word "hero" itself has been stretched out of all meaning until it practically has none...I can understand why neo-cons did this but Maddow? Or, is it like Maher having to remain just enough of an asshole to offset otherwise hard-to-tell truths to Americans?

..I feel great sadness and empathy for young Americans who join the service actually believing their country is in the right...that it is being ATTACKED and therefore gets to kill children. There's nothing heroic that I can see in being so heavily armed against poor people and then killing women and children....this is hardly a fair fight...in fact not since WW II have American soldiers engaged in anything even close to a fair fight...since then they have heavily outnumbered the peasants and civilians they "fought" and even at that have been beaten badly each time....where's the heroism?

On top of that Maddow has a hard-on for the Iranians...at least she does for Ahmadinejad...it amazes how otherwise sentient Americans can believe their county each time, regardless of the evidence before their eyes that their leaders have lied to them over and over....her comments about Ahmadinejad, again, sound like what people said about Jews when they believed the leaders of their day who told them Jews were out to get them, to destroy etc., and then parroted those same views without any other evidence except what they had been told...and by leaders they knew lied to them regularly.

Believing what the media and government says about Muslims or Iranians is no different than believing what popes said about Jews...and we know what that led to....and we're off to another good start.
