Scores killed in Baghdad market blast

By Steven R. Hurst / Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide bomber driving a truck loaded with a ton of explosives hidden beneath cooking oil, canned food and bags of flour obliterated a Baghdad food market on Saturday, killing at least 132 people in one of the most fearsome attacks in the capital since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

The explosion was the deadliest strike by a single suicide car bomber since the war started, surpassing the Feb. 28, 2005, attack targeting mostly Shiite police and national guard recruits in Hillah that killed 125.

..of course we believe everything we`re told...but how does anyone know the driver didn`t park this truck and walk away, detonating it from a safe CIA hideout? Why bother with the cooking oil and other disguises? If stopped anywhere along the line, just detonate..and if police do stop and search, with all this nonsense about how many lives they save through their thoroughness, how would cooking oil, on top of 2000 pounds of dynamite, fool them?

...we need to keep the disruption going so politicnas can gravely intone about "srabilizing the violence before we leave". Yeah, right. We brought the violence we now want so badly to stabilize...we brought it and we meant to.
