...at last, a sane and knowledgeable, man speaks out.

The idea that Christians, of all people, would lecture ANYBODY about religious and other tolerance is absurd, almost criminal....but Christians have built their business on accusing others of what they themselves are guilty of.

"Indeed, while modern political factions often make reference to theological differences, the usage of symbolism and rhetoric which draws upon the distant past (a tactic employed by political opportunists around the world) is very different than the existence of an actual continuity between ancient history and the present...thanks to the efforts of well-funded religious demagogues - themselves either ignorant of history or cynical manipulators of it..."

..."religious demagogues"...hmmmmm, who could that be? Could it also include our own assyrians who spread lies and slanders and historical untruths about Islam and what it supposedly did to them...who also say that any assyrian today HAS to be Christian...just as any assyrian/Christian who converts to any other religion, stops being assyrian....?

...you could as easily add to that last sentence in the above-quoted paragraph, "....like the so-called assyrians, themselves a "modern political" faction which, "often make reference to theological differences", and posit "an actual continuity between ancient history and the present"...."(a tactic employed by political opportunists around the world)" claiming to have been wiped out because of their religion alone...which, in reality, is nothing more than a result of their being, "either ignorant of history or cynical manipulators of it..."

Gee, I wonder who he's talking about? I think this person is familiar with assyrians. He just described these people to a "T", for Taco...
