...everybody reads here....they don't write, of course, but they read. Mostly because they find their own forums boring as hell. Just now posts have appeared at screechassyria.com congratulating Magpie for her GREAT forum...and then four other people chime in and pump the place up.

...I have a feeling it came about after they read all the posts here about how we're the only forum that's actually a forum...that allows people to express themselves freely with no fear of being banned or deleted, like Magie's forum and all the rest do...and that if we have only a few people writing, it's because people aren't used to thinking and debating...they're accustomed to "being respected" for whatever they say...and they can't be sure they'll be respected for whatever idiotic views they have....and might have to go a little further and actually stand up to scrutiny.

...these people don't realize that the greatnes of the concept of Free Speech is demonstrated NOT when you allow your friends to speak freely, but when you extend that right to those who DON'T agree with you, those whose views might even rub you the wrong way, those who may even insult or ridcule you. What's the big fucking achievement in Maggie allowing her FRIENDS to talk to her? Does she really think it was a revolutionary idea? Hells Bells, that kind of freedom was allowed to everyone who agreed with Stalin...or Hitler. But, what did those two do to those who disagreed with them? THAT'S the measure of free speech and whether it exists or not.

...we don't ask anyone to agree with us...infact, we don't care WHAT they write or think or have to say about what we write or think. All we want is a place where EVERYONE can talk to everyone else...that people in our community are deathlu afraid of freedom and openess isn't our fault...that they expect to be respected, no matter what jackassess they make of themselves, isn't our doing...that they require a moderator who will protect them from their own folly, isn't our idea...clearly...clearly, this community is afraid of itself and each other...the people most "nationalistic" are the ones requiring the greatest protection...because they're SO fucking stupid they can't cross the street without help...like hothouse flowers they'd die in the open air.

..this place provides the same opportunity a dictionary does...or a good school: it's there...it's available...it's ready to serve an invidual's needs. It can further education, it can educate, it can challenge, it can help define and refine. It's up to people to come in the doors...or crack the cover. But you can see by the way we treat accurate definitions, by the way we treat acclaimed professors, or how little we make use of the thousands of books which could educate us, that we're only interested in reaffirming all the prejudices we were raised with...in fact we LOATHE what education has to offer...it "teaches" us, which means it presents NEW things...things we didn't know before...things we must LEARN, just like we had to do as young children when first confronted with the alphabet, or numbers. But that isn't what the community wants or does...they believe they're done with learning, they know everything they need to know. They take what they were taught as children and want to make it last an entire lifetime...never updating, adding to, enhancing, changing, growing...nothing but to repeat and repeat what they learned as children...which is the main reason they behave so chilishly when challenged. They don't want to be shown how ignorant they are, how foolish it is to rely on stuff that was adequate to a child's mind and needs...they write letters to WORLD LEADERS in the same childlike ways they composed imaginary letters when they were six and seven and played "ofice". And they are desperate, to the point of murder, to keep "Assyria" a nursery, or kindergarten where they can romp and pretend, just as they did as children....they're terrified of growing up, of having to actually prove their mettle...they want things to remain as they were whe n they were children in a child's version of a "nation" where they could be "great warriors" and "heroes"...cause make-believe is ever so much more satisfying to a child...and a child-like adult.

..their forums are very like cable netwrok news...it's all pre-taped and no one is going to get on who disagrees strongly with the corporate view..and then THAT gets passed off as "news". Dadeeshoo does the same thing.....these people are dedicated, not to freedom of expression and respect for individual points of view, they're dedicated to cleaning up "ill manners", because they think that if they show the world that they make good pets, they'll be allowed to sleep with the master inside, drink warm milk and get petted and stroked.

What a forum, this is!

Some of our best nationalist are arguing, discussing, exchanging ideas, agreeing and opposing and describing their views, at a higher level of intellect, and still staying friendly and like brothers.

The beauty of this forum is that people don't post ideas, and a few respond. There is actually a dialog going on.
Thank you all, specifically Maggie, for providing and managing such an environment.

...let them be the "great" and the "best" and the "wonderful" and "higher" forums filled with "intellect". Since they're used to calling themselves "writers" and "historians" and "Great" and a "nation" and anything else that suits their fancy; chief among which is "Assyrian", we're well aware that they've found the secret short-cut to being these things: just SAY IT! Even when all indications are that they are NOT Great, or a nation, or intelligent, or anything but a private message board...it's just so easy and satisfying doing it their way. Let them be whatever they make believe they are, if it was good enough for them when they were five, why not when they're fifty-five?

....we'll settle for being the free and open forum. At least we are what we say we are. If you don't believe me, watch and see what that little fellow posts next.
