...that Islam went from being such a positive, forward-looking force to a restricted, strait-laced and narrow world-view...because it thought it had "perfected" religion...and also why now, in America, the effect of the Christian revival of the past several decades has led to a degradation of education, science and even public inquiry and decency...because these people KNOW...and they teach their children what to KNOW...and no questions allowed, no thinking...you just have to commit to memory and you'll be fine...or you'll be left alone and not hounded.

The spirit of inquiry, the ability to wonder, to think, to turn ideas around and around and be RATIONAL is disappearing...that's what's actually under attack, not Christmas!!!

In place of those basic human traits that got us here, that invented soap and gave people the courage to bathe, we're being taught that all you have to do is clasp your hands and pray and some magician in the sky will take care of you...except he hardly ever does...but since you can't be rational any longer, you can't even think THAT.

Certainty is a killer...it's what makes people able to burn women...to cut up babies....to kill the other over trifles. And that's what assyrians suffer from and mainstream Christianity and Islam.

To be human is to question...whenever you think you have THE answer, you turn into a monster...a non-human...history is full of such monsters and we're surrounded by them today.
