...we bought the notion that we would have more and better paying jobs, better vacations, more sex etc if only we´d get rid of regulations that kept businesses from doing what they want...because if only they could do as they please they and their fucking Market would regulate THEMSELVES adequately and there would be prosperity etc.

Right. We just saw how careful industry was and has been...bank failures, oil well failures and now drug company failures..,.these companies did NOT regulate themselves...why the fuck would they? They are run by greedy individuals backed by greedy boards and gamblers...they took every risk they could, cut every corner on their way to making themselves rich...and when even that wasn´t enough they stole outright and lied...so, do we need regulations and honest regulators?

The Republicans RAN on the idea of cutting regulations and we all thought it was a great idea..."just let us go and we´ll make you happy and rich".

Well, they about broke us and then stole some more from us...they polluted our waters for years to come AND they released drugs into the community with never a thought for what the end results might be down the long road...and what the combination of these drugs in our bodies could result in...just get out of the way and let us create JOBS for you, my dears.
