: : I don't know why there are no Assyrians doing the same as him. That's a good question. Maybe there's one in training right now.

: +++ You mean, somewhere in a secret genetic and training laboratory hidden deep in the Assyrian ghettos?

: +++ I think this is really a very interesting socio-psychological phenomenon.

: +++ "Christianity" in itself - either real or formal or nominal or pseudo or NO affiliation with it at all - doesn't seem to be the deeper or crucial reason for such Assyrian absence in the cultural intellectual landscape:

: E.g. Armenians, Greeks, Jews, etc have done some great careers and made respectable contributions.

xxx I know, I know. It's ridiculous... I think we're starting to catch on, though. These things take time to happen. & if you want to go by numbers, how many Assyrians #1 really know much about their ethnicity (for instance, I didn't really have much of a clue about it, & still don't... which is why I'm going to the Convention). Furthermore, it seems like we're all so spread apart from one another, it's hard to get our act together. & finally, how many of us are there in the world? We are a rare breed.
