To be honest with you, I haven't ventured out in terms of food. Growing up in southwest Michigan, there wasn't much variety. My mom always cook so I'd hardly eat out and when I did it'd be just at regular restaurants. I'm slowly working my way to different types of food here....

My mom makes really good baked salmon...I have to be in the mood for it. I've been eating a lot of chicken lately and its starting to get boring...

THere is this place on campus called the "Thai cafe"..people claim its actually Vietnamese food. The salads are good cause they come with noodles (not sure what kind)...

If the bay area is good for something other than the weather, its got to be the diversity. There is one street about 15-20 minutes away that's filled with nothing but Thai, Chinese, and Indian places...

I've never really gone out to eat in Palo Alto (unless the department took us out or something)...I think its too overpriced and yuppy for the quality of food you are getting..

Quick question: Were you raised down south? Any particular reason why you chose to go to graduate school in Tenn.? Just curious.

Thanks for the food suggestions,
Nahrain
