You know, I get this feeling sometimes that there are plenty of Assyrians out there who aren't like those twits on the other boards... Maybe it's like advertising. My mom told me once that when she was growing up in Finland, those who advertised heavily (in main stream media) were most often begging for customers. If a company had enough customers, why would they need to advertise so much? & usually (if it wasn't a new business), there weren't enough customers because the products were faulty/had a bad rep. or because the products were "gimmicky" like trendy make-up, tasteless clothing, commercial jewelery (not the hand crafted, "original" stuff - which isn't advertised in mainstream media), & trashy fad toys. So maybe those people on the other boards are "advertising" their opinions on-line because the don't feel as much support in their off-line communities as they want to feel? Why else would they be so defensive & blowing their own horns all the damn time?
