For those envisioning a future stable and progressive Iraq, the true litmus test for democracy and pluralism remains the fate of the Assyrians, the indigenous Christian community of Iraq.

...how`d you like to make the treatment of women...or Blacks...or Queers the "litmus test" for American democracy? The ONLY standard for a democracy is that the majority RULES...the minorities have ALWAYS had to take whatever the majority dishes out in EVERY democracy on earth...nowhere in ANY democracy has it ever been a standard that the minorities must not suffer...how could that be? If a minority in Iraq wants special rights for themselves as Christians...how can they get those rights if to grant them would infringe the rights of the MAJORITY? How??? Right there it would stop being a democracy and become a tyranny of a minority...in a democractic Iraq the majority Shiia will give themselves THEIR way...as the White Protestants of America have ALWAYS done and are busy trying to gut the Constituion so they can go BACK to their good old days when they terrorized ALL minorities!

Peter and Firas have been rubbing each oher`s balls for far too long..the static electricity is wreaking havoc with their neurons.
