Obie Yadgar in San Jose

Wilfred Bet-Alkhas
California

(ZNDA: San Jose) The religious divisions, caused by the legal battles among the bishops of the Assyrian Church of the East, has taken a large toll on the educational and cultural activities of the Assyrian community in San Jose.

...that`s nothing...look at what the division of the Assyrians from Ashur to that Jew, Jesus, has done to them!

Once known for its warm reception of the greate Assyrian artists,

...WHAT?? In the first place, we HAVE no "great" artists..you think by applying adjectives, like paint, to whatever shopworn old thing you produce you have made something GREAT of it. We have not got the basic cultural foundation to create great ANYTHINGS...except in the neutral fields of science and math...where you can be weird and get away with it.

..but we DO have a lot of struggling artists..like yoors trooli who was threatened with arrest in San Jose...whose sculptures were seized by Jackie Bejan and hidden from view and who was then sued by the same bitch because he wouldn`t shag her...AND...she called the San Jose Arts Commission and spread her usual lies which got the Shumirum cancelled for San Jose...as Nimrod took care of it for Chicago..what you dweebs don`t realize is that NO artist worth a damn will take orders from computer geeks and businessmen...or hysterical, underserviced and therefpre oversexed Armenian half-breeds...

the city of San Jose and in particular, the Assyrian American Association of San Jose have become a bastion of feuding families who take side on the issues dealing with the Church of the East bishops and refuse to attend events where they may encounter one another.

...what did you expect...you Christians are PROWDS to have betrayed Ashur...but ever SINCE then you`ve insisted you must "unite" under your Jew...and instead you have divided and divided and divided..if first you prove false...don`t come looking for trust again.

Nowhere was this more evident this past weekend that at the book signing event held in San Jose for Obelit Yadqar, the accomplished radio personality and author of the book "Will's Music". Mr. Yadgar is the grand nephew of the great Assyrian nationalist and intellectual, Raabi Benyamin Arsanis, and lives in Milwakee, Wisconsin.

Mr. Yadgar was introduced by the AshurTV program director, Mr. Sayros Yadegar (no relations). Mr. Alphonse Odisho, a member of the AAASJ, then welcomed Mr. Yadgar on behalf of the Assyrian American Association of San Jose. Most other members of the Association, even the executive board, were attending a service held by one of the feuding bishopric factions.

..this is nothing new...you people have ALWAYS kicked at each other...you haven`t the nerve to attack anyone else because to you no one is LOWER than a fellow "Assyrian".

Most of a individuals attending this event were in fact not members of the Assyrian community in San Jose and had come to hear Mr. Yadgar from afar. Mr. Yadgar, ignoring the chilly welcome he received from the community once known for its love of artists and letters, eloquently read a chapter from his book and mesmirized his audience with his deep radio voice.

...bullshit...you have "love" for people you can easily frighten and control...go screw yourself, Wellfed...the presence of a "real" artist would make you wet yourself all over.

His captivated listeners were then given ample time to discuss his life, his book, and future projects. Mr. Yadgar is working on two other books at this time. Nearly all of Mr. Yadgar's copies of "Will's Music" were sold out at the end of the lecture - a small sign of hope in San Jose.

...your prick was the biggest small sign of hope in San Jose.

Mr. Yadgar was previously interviewed by AshurTV. He is expected to appear for more book signings at other Assyrian organizations in California where his fans hope he will receive a warmer welcome any accomplished Assyrian artist deserves from his or her people.

...Hey...I`m avaliable! Over here...with my middle finger raised...
