...I'm the same as Dr Joseph...born in Iraq of parents who were also told they were Assyrians...though I realize now my father, at least, took it with a big grain of salt as well. As do many people who've been raised with stuff...you just don't normally heard from them because they stay away from "Assyria".

..of all asyrians, I should be the MOST determined to keep this thing going...I've spent 30 years devoted to making Assyrian sculpture..which is still valid because I do love and respect the ancients...but I wish I hadn't written the usual crap about us being the modern descendants on that monument...it's embarrassing now to step forward and admit I was mistaken...same with the second monument...but the work itself was valid and still is...I also forced a public debate with a Dr Kelly Ross, a professor at a Los Angeles junior college, who said then, what I now say...I wrote to him and apologized....none of this was fun to do. If there was the SLIGHTEST chance this stuff was true, I'd be DELIGHTED to continue believing it...but I can't do that any longer...instead of being pissed at Dr Joseph I am grateful to him, especially considering how much abuse he's taken from us idiots...if someone shows me that the earth is round where I believed it was flat...I am going to be THANKFUL for being shown the error of my ways....I'm not about to insist on hanging on to errors just because they sounded good...or made me feel special..or because my parents and teachers were in error...humanity would hardly move forward if it clung deperately to everything it believed 2000 years ago...or ten yeats ago.

...One thing for sure, I knew from the age of ten days old that Christianity is pure nonsense...though I have great admiration for Jesus, the Jewish man.
