However, his grandfather was a patriotic Assyrian, devoutly religious (originally from the Church of the East but converted to Catholicism due to the views on the British), and a lifelong lefty. Thus, my father and one of his brothers who grew up with his grandfather became very skeptical of capitalism. Their oldest brother (long deceased), who worked in a company inundated with Arab nationalists, was apolitical but ultimately came to believe that pan-Arabism would save the Middle East and counted Gaddafi and Nasser as his heroes. My dad’s second oldest brother was influenced by his own father and ended up in England, then married there. My father’s family had contact with all 3 regimes. My grandfather with the era of Ghazi, my great grandfather with Qassim himself, and my late uncle with the Ba’ath coworkers he had. However, nobody ever changed his mind or became a sellout. My great grandfather survived the first WMD to ever take place, in Habbania 1920. That is what made him a lefty. What drove this man insane was the Assyrian love for the British. How could you love your killers? He compared us to the Indian Hindus, and now I see why.

...ah yes, identifying with your killers and the rapists of your mothers...how easy it is to do. Afro-Americans love Jesus and never ask how he came to their ancestors...how many Iranians came running to America and then helped harass their own dear homeland...not to mention assyrians who supported and helped pay for the deatruction of their "dear homeland". Why do people so these things?

..I guess to people who have never seen a towel, the one offered you after being raped is too good to pass up.

Fred Aprim is a supposed liberal, yet he revises history to shame Iraq.

...just like "assyrian" liberal is a name he applies to himself which does NOT apply to him, however...he is a Fascist.

My great grandfather said that a patriotic Assyrian must be a socialist, and socialism is the best avenue for Assyrian patriotism, which takes us back to your grandfather, Mr. Parhad. He, Mr. Bet Arsanous, and Dr. Freydun Atouraya wanted to spread Assyrian socialism, a theory which is almost nonexistent today, sadly. Voodnaghoor Sarkhosh of Yengijeh was also with him, as was Qasha Shmuel Bet Kolia, grandfather of the current AUA leader. An AUA which has become a weapon to destroy Assyrian socialism. I must state, though, the AUA leader did praise the DPRK, so that was one good sign, and he also praised Syria.

...we have socialism...in lots of places. It's just that it serves the rich, not the rest of us....whenever the rich need a sudden influx of cash, they get it from our Treasury...whether it's Blackwater, or NASA or arms manufacturers or the Pharma industry or the new Prison industry...they all have legislated ways to get their hands on public money...it's the rest of us dummies, whom they lecture ad nauseum, who can't manage it or, when we do, are made to feel like criminals for "stealing" what belongs to others.

I met a Syriac undertaker at the cemetery during a funeral last week for an Armenian. This man was a genius, a walking history book, but it was useless. He ended his conversation by calling for a cleansing of socialists through a mass annihilation, and praised the Qatari dog Thani, and his slave, Iyad Allawi. Going back to Fred Aprim, he condemned Sargon Dadesho for very obvious reasons, yet his whitewashing of colonial crimes in Iraq makes him no better than Dadesho. How different is this than the people who attacked Narsai David on forums some years ago for religious matters totally unrelated to him? This is how screwed up our society is: more than 100 Assyrians marched in LA 10 years ago in a pro-war rally with photos of Bush and flags, yet only 1 Assyrian flag was present. These people don’t even know what the heck being Assyrian is! A plan may have been thwarted in the last few days to stage an anti- Bashar Assad rally. A commemoration of Simele was held in A last year by Assyrians when, at the conclusion, a man walked on stage without having been given time, and gave an impromptu 45 minute speech condemning Assad, and then tried, but failed to turn a supposedly somber event into a rally for the FSA. This idiot, Dr. Sargon Issa, is from Iran! How is Syria connected to him. Another man, a 19 year old, on that same day in 2012, took over a ceremony in San Jose and went on a 3 hour diatribe praising the FSA. This is truly shameful and somebody must stop these madmen. What we truly need altogether, as humanity, is another General Vo Nguyen Giap. Somebody must stand up against colonialism and defend anti-Revisionism and be a revolutionary, not just evolve into capitalism for a fistful of dollars.

...ah yes, the infamous "question" all assyrians launch when it's "question time"...only it's never a question, just a chance to launch your own diatribe.
