...watching the moral outrage at Sandusky and all those at Penn State football for not telling the police..."how could they"...ask the same newscasters who call our soldiers heroes.

...they fault all those involved for being more loyal to their football program than to the needs of a ten-ear old being raped by one of their own. But why shouldn't they care more for their college than they do for a kid? Don't we expect loyalty, no matter what, of citizens?

Bradley Manning also witnessed crimes...many of them...and he thought the thing to do was tell everyone...tell us all that international laws were being broken, that innocent children were being murdered...he did the right thing, the thing we all say Sandusky should have done....but Manning has been in jail for over a year...and we say it's because he wasn't loyal to the United States.

So which is it? Must you be loyal and silent at all times...or do you have an obligation to speak up when laws are broken and innocent people harmed?

This is not "situational morality" as Arrow would claim...it is hypocrisy. When innocent people are being hurt, all humans have an obligation to speak out and do all that can be done to stop it. We expect it of football players and coaches, but apparently not of our soldiers or citizens.
