...listening to yet another intelligent person advising that the US and UK stop doing business with Saudi Arabia and get out of bed with these dreadful dictatorships because it doesn't really serve our real interests well or reflect our morals.

..it DOESN'T serve our best interests? First of all, who is "our"? Is it us, the people? Can't be because we the people are against many of these deals...in reality it is our new corporate/political reality...and which corporation thinks of "us" as anything other than a vehicle to make money from?

Our business-people-politicians are simply carrying on as all businessmen do; they are trying to make as much as the can as quickly as they can while shifting their costs elsewhere, to maximize their profits.

So, we support Saudi Arabia in its bombing of Yemen, thereby turning Yemen into a worse place...hopefully ISIS takes over because then we can sell even MORE weapons to "stamp out extremism"...the prospects for future profits are great and only get better.

Just as financiers finally started betting on which businesses would FAIL...we invest in making countries fail, take our billions from that, and then make even more billions by dealing with that FAILED state.

...what a business.
