I met two Russian Assyrians at the convention. They were very interested in the culture, the language, etc. but, like me, they were 2nd and 3rd generation and didn't know the language but a few phrases.
The point is that they were interested, though... interested enough to travel around the world to meet others in our community. I also met a half Assyrian from Florida whose email address I lost, but someone who I would have loved to stay in contact with. He was SO interested in learning more about the culture.
There was a French film crew there making some sort of a documentary... I wonder what will come of that?
