After some discussion I wanted to bring this idea up to the board. I believe that our community needs to create a trust fund, or some sort of organization which will help those who are desperately in need of things like medical help.

It would have to be an organization that discloses all financial information... on a web site (that would be the easiest, and cheapest way... instead of paying for newsletters, etc.)

I was thinking that people could donate once a month, or once a year. The web site would list all donations (not the names of the actual donors, just amounts) and each month would scan in the bank statements and post them on the site.

If the fund withdrew money to help someone, a page would be created about this situation. Who the person was, a picture of them with a short bio... what they needed, and how we helped them (and how much it cost)...

Is this a good idea, a bad idea? Is there something that I am missing? Please share your thoughts.
