In a big fat book by Lord Kinross about the Ottoman Empire he makes the point that the Ottomans were the only ones who seriously tried to accomodate all three sisters from hell. As the modern era of industry and its insatiable need for cheap oil began there appeared at the same time, "miraculously", unrest and religious strife between all three at the lower end of the society. There were a few riots...one or two that got out of hand and it took the Sultan`s troops to restore order...after one such riot in which several people on all sides were killed, the top man from each came together for a joint and very public prayer during which each patriarch, rabbi and Imam recited the call to peace of the OTHER two religions..I don`t know why but that gave me goose bumps when I read it.

There`s far more invested in keeping people apart than there is in bringing them together...the similarities you mentioned in the Muslim service to Christianity could be the basis of peace and harmony between them..but this one god business makes them all vlunerable to periodic fits of madness...even when it`s one ONE god as within Christianity itself look at how much blood is still being shed.

It isn`t that people weren`t violent before these gods came...but the gods can be made to ASK for it..in their name and to prove themselves superior...the Christian way was just to kill everyone else and declare unity of god...only after that much bloodshed to achieve this unity...they took off after each other over even MORE trivial variatons...

There`s no way to avoid the conclusion that gods make people crazy and gods are used to sanctify and make Holy the most unbelievable crimes and weirdest rationales for them you ever heard.

Right now Christianity is on the warpath again...this time against Islam..and they`ve manufactured all the reasons they need to kill them all, if they should decide it needs doing..and unfortunately Islam will have no choice but to fight back...and their attempts to defend themselves will be seen as the "violence" we were warned of and that`s all we`ll need.

They`re settitng up the next Holocaust...I always wondered what it looked and felt like as the last one got under way..how people rationalized, what justifications they used and most importantly..how did the Jews then and Muslims now rationalize what they didn`t want to admit...that something wicked was coming...but what could they do about it?

You put a badly needed human face to Islam...but they had better start doing it themselves..their biggest mistake will be to trust in Allah to take care of them...they have to do it first...the clock is definitely ticking...Iraq is their first attempt at a country turned INTO a concentration camp...it won`t be the last.

Our only hope from our end, oddly enough, is that this will cost even more than we can aford to borrow to prolong...Corporations are going to use our taxes to set up their profit base..but the rest of us are going to the poor house fast.

...Hitler too, basically, went broke.
