Obviously you are the hypocrite and liar when you say that I "collaborated" with John when I only translated what he was saying. Was I not supposed to? Does translating his answers into Assyrian language make me a collaborator? Is that how fair-minded you are? It seems that if you had it your way, I would have blasted John for every word he uttered. Well, that's not my job as an interviewer. I ask questions, I get him to reveal his platform, and then I translate it. Some of the response to the show came from viewers that thought I was hard on John by stating that I did not support the war and thus contradicting his platform, by making comments about neo-cons, and by stating that California was part of Mexico and it belonged to the Mexican people and thus undermining his position on CAFTA. To both you and those kinds of people I say, it's my job to show both sides. You seem to be the kind of person that is one-sided, so that if you ever did any social research and wanted to present it to the world, you would only discuss what YOU think is relevant, and what is dear to YOU. But to the Scientific world that would be unacademic, unscientific, dogmatic, and unacceptable. You are free to go into the Bet-Nahrain archives and watch the show as often as you would like. And yes, in spite of the fact that he is a Republican, I will be voting for John Kanno next year against Dennis Cardoza, just to get him into Congress. As a small minority group, we must get as many Assyrians into government positions as possible. Being a politician and staying in Stanislaus County forever is as useless as tits on a boar! Assyrian politicians must be players in the main stream political arena, where it really counts, so they can be the legislators, not stay as sheep, following legislation from the top and letting it trickle on us like pee. That's the only way they will learn what politics really are, how the game is played, and what we must do as a community to achieve the status others communities are envied for. Dennis Cardoza was responsible for dividing the Assyrian community into bits and pieces, and redistricting our area so that he could isolate and render the Assyrian voice ineffective. And it worked! He won backed by his Portugese patriots. Why shouldn't we then as Assyrians, back an Assyrian candidate? If it is games these legislators want to play, we can play the game just as well!!! -Are you too afraid to see one of your own win the congressinal seat in district 18? The answer is obviously yes! -Do you even live in Central valley to know the dirty games played on the Assyrians by these corrupt legislators? The answer is obviously no! -If Dennis Cardoza, a mere puppet of the Democratic machine can get to Washington without standing for anything, why can't John Kanno? The answer is obviously in the party line, isn't it? If both parties are the same, (dysfunctional and corrupt) why shouldn't it at least be one of our own that holds that seat? --------------------- |
