Pancho said : "...how the hell could you read that paragraph and NOT see the words "ancient world", without understanding just what they mean to your ditzy claim....do you not understand the distinction between ancient and modern worlds? Do you see NO differences between ancient and modern Assyrians....NONE? ...WHY did Saggs use "ancient"...why did he make that distinction? Why is he careful to separate ancient from modern Assyrians in making his statement? Why? " MY REPLY: While you were accusing me for using QUESTION MARKS, here you are doing the same , but never mind let us go to the subject, if you were smart enough to see that this historian personality spoke about the ANCIENT ASSYRIANS, while you IGNORED the real TITLE OF HIS BOOK , which you will find the first words : " The MIGHTY THAT WAS ASSYRIA " unfortunately, you closed your eyes on it, while speaking things that were in the book. Remember, the book mainly is not about A PERIOD OF TIME only, but A PERIOD WHERE ASSYRIA WAS A BIG POWER that period is not TODAY, or 500 years ago and even 1000 years ago, but more than that. In any event, ASSYRIAN nation is a nation THEN and TODAY, yes we don't possess the element of MODERN DEFINITION of a nation, but we are still a nation. --------------------- |
