I don't know if this is necessarily the case. Some religious folks are so content with their blissfully ignorant lives that they are actually healthier (perhaps not mentally) than the rest of us. Imagine: going through life with the belief that you know it all...you know how the world was formed, what happens when you die, and where you go thereafter. No need to stress about anything, just tell yourself "Let gatt (God) decide" and accept everything that happens.

Is ignorance bliss?
